Category Manager - IT Professional Services

About the role

The Category Manager for IT Professional Services will lead the development and execution of category strategies for ANZ New Zealand, covering consulting, system integrations, managed services, contingent labour and specialist advisory services. Reporting to the Technology Procurement Portfolio Lead, the role supports the bank’s technology and transformation agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing activities, including contract drafting, negotiation and finalisation.
• Collaborate with Procurement Legal and business stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal, risk and regulatory requirements.
• Use data‑driven insights on spend patterns, market trends and supplier performance to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial and regulatory risks across technology procurement.
• Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure reliable and sustainable partnerships.
• Align regional category strategy with the broader Group strategy while accommodating local variations.
• Provide advisory support to internal stakeholders and collaborate across AUS, NZ, Pacific and APEA regions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in category management or procurement within the IT professional services space.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to analyse spend data and market trends to inform decisions.
• Understanding of commercial, contractual and regulatory risk management.
