About the role
The Pharmacy Council of New Zealand is seeking a Practice Advisor to join its Compliance team in Wellington on a part‑time basis (0.4 FTE). This role offers an experienced, New Zealand‑registered pharmacist the chance to apply professional expertise in a regulatory setting, influencing pharmacy practice standards and protecting public health.
Key responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on pharmacy practice standards, competence and ethical conduct.
- Collaborate with colleagues on compliance matters, complaints and practice issues.
- Support competence review processes and contribute to regulatory decision‑making.
- Assist with registration, recertification and return‑to‑practice processes.
- Contribute to guidance, projects, committees and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Required profile
- Current registration as a pharmacist in New Zealand with a valid Annual Practising Certificate.
- Strong knowledge of current pharmacy practice and professional standards.
- Ability to interpret legislation, analyse issues and make sound recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative team and build trusted stakeholder relationships.
