Night Shift Slaughterboard Supervisor

About the role

Alliance is seeking an experienced Night Shift Supervisor for its high‑volume bovine slaughterboard at the Pukeuri plant in New Zealand. You will lead a large frontline team in a fast‑paced environment, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity while supporting the company’s sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operations on the bovine slaughterboard, meeting production targets for quality, yield, volume, and safety.
• Coach, develop and manage a team of supervisors, leading hands, and production employees.
• Promote a safety‑first culture and ensure compliance with health, safety, and food‑safety regulations.
• Plan workforce, monitor performance, and drive engagement to build a high‑performing team.
• Optimize operational efficiency through resource planning, continuous improvement, and effective collaboration with maintenance, management, and union representatives.
• Maintain consistent product quality and meet customer and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Proven frontline leadership experience in food manufacturing or processing, preferably in the red‑meat sector.
• Experience managing large teams, including supervisors and frontline staff.
• Strong understanding of health & safety, food safety, and compliance requirements.
• Track record of driving productivity, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Experience working in unionised environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage teams.
