Mechanical Technician

About the role

Vessev is building hydrofoiling electric vessels in New Zealand and needs a Mechanical Technician to join the Hydrofoil Systems team. You will help complete the assembly of mechanical systems for a pioneering fleet of environmentally‑friendly boats.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components and systems according to technical drawings, schematics and assembly instructions.
• Inspect assembled parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues on the hydrofoiling vessels and workshop equipment, and perform routine maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, parts used, build times and any issues encountered.
• Collaborate with design engineers and the build team to provide feedback and suggest process improvements.
• Monitor inventory levels of mechanical parts, report shortages and keep the workshop organised.
