Machinery Operator – Farm Equipment

About the role

Join a close‑knit team at Cape Foulwind Machinery and operate a wide range of farm equipment to support multiple Pāmu farms in the Cape Foulwind region. You will work independently on a drive‑in/drive‑out basis, helping to grow and harvest productive pasture while maintaining safety, animal welfare and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate tractors, trucks, bikes, ATVs, excavators and other cultivation, spraying and harvesting equipment across several farms.
• Perform fertilizer spreading, mowing, re‑grassing and other pasture‑management tasks.
• Maintain machinery, record usage and report activity using company systems.
• Support the maintenance of property assets and ensure secure, smooth operations.
• Train and induct new staff on equipment use and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience with a variety of farm machinery.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities and manage diverse tasks.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, animal welfare and environmental compliance.
• Effective communication with managers, staff, contractors and suppliers.
• Valid New Zealand driver’s licence and unrestricted right to work in NZ.
