Learn to Swim Team Member

About the role

The Learn to Swim Team Member will deliver swimming lessons for babies, toddlers and preschool‑aged children at Manurewa Pools and Leisure Centre. You will join a supportive local team, creating a safe and fun environment while helping the community’s youngest swimmers build confidence in the water.

Key responsibilities

• Teach basic swimming skills to children from 6 months to preschool age, following council‑approved curricula.
• Maintain a safe, caring, and enjoyable pool environment for families and visitors.
• Collaborate with centre staff to ensure smooth operation of lesson schedules and pool activities.
• Participate in ongoing training and team meetings as required.

Required profile

• Confident swimmer with a genuine love for water and early childhood development.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills for interacting with families.
• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Current first‑aid certification and a recognised swim‑teacher qualification (or willingness to complete a two‑week training program).
