About the role
The Lead Frontend Engineer will shape the user experience across a gaming company's digital portfolio, working on product development, web platforms, and internal tools. This multi‑surface role blends system functionality with interface design to deliver cohesive, high‑quality web experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee UI implementation for external products, marketing websites, and internal systems.
- Lead frontend technical decisions and contribute to overall technical strategy within a cross‑functional team.
- Develop interfaces that expose backend capabilities as functional product features.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to refine user flows, interactions, and usability.
- Manage the full lifecycle from concept through production support, debugging, and performance optimisation.
- Balance structured project delivery with business‑as‑usual support and identify frontend performance bottlenecks.
Required profile
- 5–10 years of experience building modern, production‑grade web applications.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Professional experience with a modern frontend framework such as React or Vue, including UI state management and integration with REST or GraphQL APIs.
- Ability to create reusable UI components and patterns across multiple surfaces.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, responsive design and cross‑browser compatibility.
- Pragmatic engineering mindset, capable of context‑switching between projects and improving legacy codebases.
- Practical knowledge of WordPress theme and plugin development, plus an understanding of web performance, accessibility and SEO best practices.
