Judicial Support Advisor – High Court (Christchurch)

About the role

The Judicial Support Advisor will assist High Court Judges in managing the Earthquake List, a specialised docket for litigation arising from the Canterbury earthquakes. Working part‑time for 12 months, you will liaise with counsel, conduct legal research and provide analysis to support efficient case disposal.

Key responsibilities

• Classify incoming earthquake‑related cases and determine their entry onto the Earthquake List.
• Maintain day‑to‑day administration of the List under judicial supervision.
• Engage with counsel to coordinate litigation matters and deadlines.
• Conduct legal research and prepare detailed analyses for Judges and stakeholders.
• Ensure accuracy of court processes and case information.

• Extensive knowledge of High Court processes and procedures.
