Java Software Engineer (6-month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Java Software Engineer to join our Auckland team on a 6‑month contract, with the possibility of extension. The role will focus on designing and delivering high‑performance backend services using the latest Java technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java 17 and Spring Boot.
• Build and evolve microservices‑based architectures with a strong emphasis on scalability, resilience, and performance.
• Develop RESTful APIs following best practices and OpenAPI specifications.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in modern Java (Java 17 or higher) and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency with Java Streams and functional programming concepts.
• Hands‑on experience building scalable, high‑performance RESTful APIs using an OpenAPI‑first approach.
