Health and Safety Lead

About the role

Panda is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Lead to join its Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) team. The role focuses on critical risk areas such as fleet safety, traffic management, contractor management and work at height, helping the company maintain safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for fleet safety, traffic management, contractor management and work at height.
• Develop, maintain and improve safety standards, procedures and practical guidance across specialist areas.
• Provide expert advice to operational, engineering and project teams.
• Lead risk reviews, audits and assurance activities across sites.
• Analyse specialist safety data, produce dashboards, reports and insight papers for decision‑making.
• Present safety performance, risk themes and recommendations to senior leadership and board‑level forums.
• Lead or support investigations of incidents, near misses and high‑potential events.
• Conduct regular site visits to offer visible support, coaching and practical guidance.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a health and safety role within an industrial, recycling, manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of fleet safety, traffic management, contractor management and work at height.
• Proven ability to lead incident investigations and identify root causes.
• Comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and turning technical requirements into site‑level solutions.
