SOC Manager – Security Operations Centre – Cyber Security

About the role

EY is looking for a SOC Manager to lead its Security Operations Centre in Auckland. The role combines technical leadership, delivery management and client engagement across EY’s managed SOC services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end technical leadership for SOC and cyber‑defence engagements, including monitoring, detection, response, threat hunting and security engineering.
• Oversee day‑to‑day SOC operations, incident triage and response, ensuring SLA and KPI compliance.
• Define and drive a multi‑year SOC capability roadmap, covering IT/OT integration and advanced threat detection improvements.
• Own technical direction and quality, reviewing designs and outputs to ensure they are risk‑based and operationally viable.
• Lead engagement delivery, manage dependencies and ensure outcomes are usable and supportable.
• Act as senior client‑facing escalation point, leading operational forums and providing clear technical updates.
• Identify, manage and escalate technical, operational and delivery risks in line with governance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security or a related discipline, or equivalent verifiable experience.
• 5‑8 years of experience in SOC or cyber‑defence roles, preferably as an engagement lead, SOC lead or technical delivery manager.
• Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, Security+, CISM are highly regarded.
