Head of Finance

About the role

The Compass Group of Companies is seeking a Head of Finance to own the financial narrative of its six‑brand portfolio. Based in Auckland with flexible remote options, you will act as a commercial partner at the executive table, shaping strategy and reporting directly to the Board.

Key responsibilities

• Produce consolidated monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with Board commentary.
• Lead group budgeting, forecasting and the annual business plan.
• Manage tax compliance including GST, FBT, PAYE, income tax and RDTI claims.
• Oversee treasury functions: cash management, banking relationships, FX and covenant compliance.
• Ensure revenue assurance across all brands.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit control.
• Drive systems integration and AI‑led automation within finance.
• Mentor and develop direct reports.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification with 10‑15 years of progressive finance experience.
• Proven track record managing finance in a complex, multi‑entity environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and confidence presenting at Board level.
• Enthusiastic about leveraging technology to improve finance.
