Head of Finance

About the role

The Head of Finance will join TAB New Zealand’s Wellington team to lead financial strategy, performance and sustainability. Reporting to the CFO, this senior position is central to driving financial planning, analysis and governance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial oversight and strategic advice to the CFO and executive team.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting and monthly financial close.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax obligations and internal controls.
• Drive risk management, audit processes and statutory reporting.
• Deliver financial modelling and insights to support commercial initiatives.
• Monitor and forecast the performance of the Entain NZ partnership.
• Enhance analytics, systems and tools to support data‑driven decision making.
• Build and lead a high‑performing, values‑led Finance team.

Required profile

• CA or equivalent qualification.
• Significant senior finance experience, including leading a finance function.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to work with senior stakeholders.
• Collaborative leadership style focused on developing high‑performing teams.
• Experience in audit or assurance is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Power BI.
• Financial modelling.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience with Xero (desirable).
