Group Financial Controller

About the role

This is a career‑defining opportunity with New Zealand’s largest private healthcare provider. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead a team of 18 professionals, own the full year‑end reporting cycle across multiple legal entities and drive large‑scale finance transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Full ownership of year‑end reporting for PBE, IPSAS and NZ IFRS entities.
• Lead the external audit process and manage relationships with tax and accounting advisers.
• Present financial papers to the Board and Audit & Risk Committee.
• Oversee treasury, cash‑flow, balance‑sheet management and tax compliance.
• Drive finance transformation and ERP system improvements across the group.
• Provide governance and oversight to hospital and joint‑venture management teams.
• Support execution of the long‑term financial strategy.
• Collaborate on annual budgeting and forecasting with the GM Business Partnering & Analysis.

Required profile

• CA qualification (CAANZ or equivalent) with 12+ years of finance experience.
• Proven leadership of finance functions and large teams.
• Strong technical knowledge of consolidations, statutory reporting, treasury and tax.
• Transformation mindset with experience delivering change projects.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills at executive and board level.
