Accountant – Fixed‑Term (9‑month contract)

About the role

Quadrent is seeking a proactive, commercially‑minded Accountant on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract. Based in Auckland, you will support accurate financial reporting, strong controls and provide commercial insights across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Execute transactional finance activities such as direct‑debit runs, debtor monitoring, credit‑card reconciliations, invoicing and subscription billing.
• Manage deal compliance, including opening/closing deals, revenue recognition, asset disposals and ROI reporting.
• Support month‑end and year‑end accounting processes – journals, accruals, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports with commentary.
• Reconcile general‑ledger, profit & loss and balance‑sheet accounts to ensure data integrity.
• Prepare and submit New Zealand and Australian GST returns in line with legislation.
• Produce financial and operational reports to aid business performance analysis.
• Assist with audit requirements, financial controls, policy adherence and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Membership of NZICA or working towards CA (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Proven experience with month‑end/year‑end processes, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Exposure to management accounting, GST compliance and financial analysis.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships.
