About the role
Join the Ministry of Health as an Executive Assistant to the Group Manager, Sector Policy. You will ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations, balance competing priorities and support senior leaders in delivering high‑impact health policies.
Key responsibilities
- Manage diaries, emails and communications, keeping priorities clear and time used effectively.
- Prepare meeting materials, track actions and follow‑up to support decision‑making.
- Draft reports, presentations and correspondence while maintaining accurate records and document systems.
- Identify and implement process improvements, support onboarding and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Act as a central coordination point across the Ministry and with external stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and delivery of the work programme.
Required profile
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Highly organised with the capacity to manage competing priorities, use initiative and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills across all levels, including senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and staying calm under pressure.
- Previous executive or personal assistant experience is preferred.

- Mid‑point salary of $71,158 (NZD) dependent on experience.
