Employment Relations Coordinator (Part‑time)

About the role

This part‑time position supports Hato Hone St John’s Employment Relations (ER) team across Auckland and Christchurch. Working 20 hours per week, you will help streamline ER processes, assist with collective bargaining activities and ensure smooth administrative operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative and coordination support for ER projects, initiatives and day‑to‑day activities.
• Maintain and update employment documentation, templates and records.
• Coordinate collective bargaining negotiations, union engagement and related meetings.
• Organise meetings, forums and travel arrangements; prepare agendas, take minutes and track actions.
• Assist in preparing, managing and filing documentation for mediations and legal proceedings.

Required profile

• Highly organised and detail‑oriented with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Experience in HR, employee relations or an in‑house legal environment.
• Experience in a unionised workforce is highly desirable.
• Strong judgement, pragmatic problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills.
