HR Business Partner

About the role

Restaurant Brands NZ Ltd. is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to act as a trusted advisor to restaurant and area managers across a fast‑growing, multi‑site operation. You will lead employee‑relations initiatives, ensure legal compliance, and help shape a high‑performing culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational HR support for a large, multi‑site business.
• Advise managers on complex employee‑relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent handling.
• Manage grievances, disciplinary actions, and performance‑management processes.
• Coach and mentor line managers on HR policies and best practices.
• Implement and continuously improve HR policies and procedures.
• Partner with senior leadership to drive cultural transformation and boost employee engagement.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
• Support restructures, change management, and occasional evening/weekend field work.
• Deliver training on HR processes, employee relations, and conflict resolution.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner, preferably in a unionised quick‑service or retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Problem‑solving mindset capable of handling complex employee‑relations issues.
• Experience working with unions.
• Willingness to travel to various NZ locations and work occasional evenings/weekends.
