Chief Executive Officer – Lead a Community Health Organisation

About the role

Progress to Health is seeking an experienced Chief Executive Officer to guide its next chapter. The CEO will champion the organisation’s vision of Communities Without Barriers, ensuring high‑quality, sustainable services for people facing mental health and disability challenges across Waikato, Taranaki and Taupō.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the existing organisational strategy.
• Advise the Board on new strategic initiatives and provide trusted reporting.
• Drive sustainable performance, growth and financial stewardship.
• Strengthen leadership capability and foster an inclusive, high‑performing culture.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with funders, iwi, government agencies and community stakeholders.
• Champion innovation, continuous improvement and equitable outcomes aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Required profile

• Significant senior executive experience in health, disability, mental health, social services or related community sectors.
• Proven ability to lead through values while delivering strong organisational and people‑focused results.
• Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen.
• Experience working closely with Boards and governance groups.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and cultural capability for equitable outcomes.
