About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join our Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Woodend Hospital. This permanent part‑time position involves working 33.45 hours across three 11.25‑hour shifts, rotating between day, night and weekend patterns.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality nursing care to stroke patients aged 16 and older in a 14‑bed unit with additional surge capacity.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, dietitians and medical staff.
- Participate in patient assessments, care planning and delivery of rehabilitation interventions.
- Contribute to the unit’s induction programme and ongoing professional development activities.
- Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to NHS Scotland policies on equality and diversity.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse with current NHS Scotland registration.
- Strong communication skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- Commitment to lifelong learning and patient‑centred care.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
Required skills
- Experience in stroke rehabilitation nursing.
- Knowledge of multidisciplinary team collaboration.
