Business Control Manager – Hospitality Finance Leader

About the role

We are seeking a senior finance leader to steer the financial performance of Star Hospitality’s extensive venue network. Reporting to the NZ Finance Director and partnering with the CEO, you will drive profitability, sustainability and commercial excellence across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the strategic finance partner to the CEO and senior leadership team.
• Own the Star Hospitality P&L, delivering timely performance insights.
• Lead planning, budgeting and forecasting for revenue, margin, labour, overheads and CAPEX.
• Drive profitability through margin management, cost control, labour productivity and investment governance.
• Strengthen venue‑level financial visibility, controls and commercial understanding.
• Ensure alignment with NZ business and HEINEKEN global governance, controls and audit standards.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing Business Control team and build finance capability across the organisation.

Required profile

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field; CA/CPA preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in commercial finance, business control, FP&A or operational finance.
• Proven experience in hospitality, retail, FMCG or other multi‑site environments.
• Deep understanding of venue‑level drivers such as revenue, COGS, labour, mix and pricing.
