Business Control Manager – Hospitality

About the role

This senior finance leadership position reports to the NZ Finance Director and works closely with the Star Hospitality CEO and senior leadership team. You will drive performance, profitability and long‑term sustainability across a large, multi‑site hospitality network.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the strategic finance partner to the CEO and senior leadership team.
• Own the Star P&L, delivering clear and timely performance insights.
• Lead planning, budgeting and forecasting for revenue, margin, labour, overheads and CAPEX.
• Drive profitability through margin management, cost control, labour productivity and investment governance.
• Strengthen venue‑level financial visibility, controls and commercial understanding.
• Ensure alignment with NZ business and HEINEKEN global governance, controls and audit standards.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing Business Control team and build finance capability across the business.

Required profile

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field; CA/CPA preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in commercial finance, business control, FP&A or operational finance.
• Proven experience in hospitality, retail, FMCG or other multi‑site environments.
• Deep understanding of venue‑level drivers such as revenue, COGS, labour and overheads.
