Senior Project Manager – Transformation Office

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the Transformation Office of a well‑established financial services firm in New Zealand. You will lead the end‑to‑end delivery of strategic initiatives across technology, operations and business/product teams, driving multiple concurrent projects from discovery through delivery and benefits realisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate several high‑impact projects simultaneously, overseeing scope, schedule, budget and risk.
• Own project governance, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Define project scope, objectives and success metrics in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
• Engage and communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams, senior leadership and external vendors.
• Present concise project updates and insights to leadership.
• Mentor junior project managers or coordinators on delivery best practices.
• Manage vendor performance and contractual relationships.

Required profile

• Extensive end‑to‑end project management experience within a financial services environment, including projects with budgets around $1 million.
• Strong analytical, planning and organisational abilities.
• Proven confidence working with senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project scopes and organisational priorities.
• Ability to collaborate across technology and business domains.
