Registered Nurse – In‑Patient Unit

About the role

Mercy Hospice is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join its In‑Patient Unit (IPU) in Auckland. You will provide holistic palliative care to patients with life‑limiting illnesses and support their families and whānau.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver physical, emotional, social and spiritual care to in‑patients and their families.
• Work collaboratively with the IPU team to maintain a supportive environment.
• Participate in 24/7 rostered shifts to ensure continuous care.
• Document patient information accurately and use IT systems for care coordination.

Required profile

• Current NZ Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience (palliative care preferred but not essential); new graduates will also be considered.
• Passion for providing high‑quality, holistic care.
• Ability to work flexible, rostered shifts.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Computer literacy.
