Registered Nurse – West Auckland

About the role

Join Plunket as a Registered Nurse serving families in West Auckland, primarily in the Edmonton and Te Atatu Peninsula areas. This permanent, full‑time position (38 hours per week) involves community‑based care, home visits and clinic appointments, helping newborns and their families achieve the best start in life.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the growth and development of infants (tamariki) during home visits and clinic sessions.
• Provide culturally appropriate, personalised support to whānau, fostering trusting relationships.
• Collaborate with a fellow Plunket Nurse and a Health Worker to deliver holistic care.
• Identify and address social challenges affecting safe and healthy homes.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to professional standards.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification.
• Current or ability to obtain an Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
• Resilience, resourcefulness and strong decision‑making in a dynamic community setting.
• Excellent active‑listening and communication skills to engage with caregivers.
