Quality Manager

About the role

This is a hands‑on Quality Manager position within a fast‑growing New Zealand nutraceutical and natural ingredients manufacturer. You will be the primary onsite quality decision‑maker, working closely with production, engineering, logistics and senior leadership to ensure products meet the highest safety and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visible quality leadership across the manufacturing site.
• Set daily priorities for QA/QC activities, product release, site checks and investigations.
• Review batch records, test results and release documentation; approve, hold or reject product based on specifications.
• Maintain and improve SOPs, GMP records, quality forms, release checklists and training records.
• Lead investigations into deviations, non‑conformances, complaints and process failures.
• Own site‑level CAPA related to production, hygiene, batch records, training and release processes.
• Monitor GMP, sanitation, hygiene and HACCP controls; ensure audit readiness.
• Conduct internal audits and prepare evidence for customer, regulatory and certification audits.
• Train and coach site staff on GMP, hygiene, batch records, HACCP awareness and deviation reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in quality leadership within food, dairy, nutraceutical, ingredient or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Strong working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food‑safety systems and quality‑management frameworks.
• Ability to make practical quality decisions in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
