About the role
Rocket Lab is seeking a Development Engineer I to join its In‑Space Propulsion (ISP) team. In this role you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and lifecycle support of spacecraft propulsion systems that enable missions such as NASA’s ESCAPADE to Mars.
Key responsibilities
- Own propulsion design, engineering bill of materials, manufacturing communication, testing requirements, and lifecycle maintenance.
- Build, test, and integrate sensitive hardware alongside technicians and engineers.
- Interface with cross‑functional teams (GNC, Manufacturing, Flight Software, etc.) to ensure seamless system integration.
- Create and review technical documentation for accuracy and clarity.
- Plan and execute long‑term projects, raise support requests, and escalate blockers as needed.
- Identify risks, contribute to mitigation strategies, and ensure project continuity.
