On‑Call Processing Officer – Night Shift (New Plymouth)

About the role

Join NZ Post’s Taranaki hub as an On‑Call Processing Officer, working overnight shifts to ensure parcels and freight are sorted, consolidated and ready for delivery. This role is essential to keep the delivery network running smoothly during peak periods and when additional coverage is needed.

Key responsibilities

• Sort and consolidate parcels and freight according to operational guidelines.
• Load and dispatch parcels for courier pickup.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment within the depot.
• Assist with covering staff absences, extended leave or peak‑time demand.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques.

Required profile

• Availability to work on‑call night shifts between 12:00 am and 5:30 am, Monday‑Saturday.
• Reliable transport to reach the depot on time.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 kg and perform a physically demanding role.
• Attention to detail and good geographical knowledge.
• Commitment to safety for self, teammates and the site.
