Management Accountant

About the role

This position is with an established, private‑equity owned business operating in the transport and operations sector. The Management Accountant will support the finance team in delivering accurate, timely management accounts and providing insight for business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Analyse financial performance against budget and provide clear commentary.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
• Assist with GST and FBT compliance, meeting all statutory deadlines.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes to support wider business planning.
• Identify and implement process improvements and conduct ad‑hoc analysis as required.

Required profile

• Experience in a broad accounting role within a complex organisation.
• CA, CPA or equivalent qualification, or progressing towards it.
• Strong analytical ability and quick learning agility.
• Effective communication skills with finance colleagues and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Team‑player attitude with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
