Finance Manager

About the role

Webb’s, a leading auction house in New Zealand, is seeking a Finance Manager to join its high‑performing team. This on‑site role combines strategic financial oversight with hands‑on execution, supporting the company’s growth across fine art, classic cars, jewellery and luxury accessories.

Key responsibilities

• Manage routine finance tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and financial reporting.
• Oversee payroll processing and GST returns.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Mentor and supervise a small finance team of four.
• Process auction invoices and payments, and resolve client queries.
• Drive finance‑related projects and continuous process improvements.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in finance or accounting.
• 5+ years of solid accounting and financial experience.
• Legal right to live and work in New Zealand (NZ residency required).
• Experience in a retail environment or process transformation is an advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency with Xero and MYOB (preferred).
• Strong computer literacy.
