Senior Manager – Group Financial Reporting

About the role

ASB is seeking a Senior Manager to lead Group Financial Reporting. The role is responsible for statutory and regulatory reporting, strengthening controls and building capability across the reporting team. You will influence senior stakeholders and ensure high‑quality financial information for the Board, regulators and other key audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of regulatory reporting for the ASB Group, meeting all RBNZ requirements with accuracy, timeliness and strong control discipline.
• Support the Head of Group Financial Reporting in producing accurate, timely and compliant financial statements.
• Oversee group reporting, disclosure preparation and review, ensuring alignment with IFRS and local regulatory standards.
• Maintain and enhance a robust financial control environment, complying with internal policies, governance standards and Conditions of Registration.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across ASB and CBA to deliver regulatory reporting outcomes.
• Engage with external auditors and regulators, providing clear advice and trusted insight.
• Provide high‑quality analysis and commentary on business drivers, emerging issues and market impacts.
• Contribute to the Financial Information & Tax strategy, driving continuous improvement of reporting processes, systems and controls.
• Support and develop the Group Financial Reporting team, fostering a collaborative culture.
• Lead finance initiatives and projects, balancing BAU delivery with change activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in RBNZ regulatory reporting and a strong understanding of prudential requirements.
• Deep knowledge of banking products and how they affect financial and regulatory reporting.
• Highly developed stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple business units.
• Strong technical accounting expertise with a deep understanding of IFRS.
• Experience working in banking, financial services or a similarly regulated environment.
