About the role
Environment Southland is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide high‑level administrative support to senior managers and council committees. The role involves managing meeting documentation, coordinating schedules, and ensuring accurate record‑keeping for a busy regional council.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute meeting papers for Council Committees, Working Parties and Liaison Committees.
- Record and maintain accurate minutes and decisions in a timely manner.
- Support General Managers and their divisions with calendar management, travel arrangements and correspondence.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and manage competing priorities.
- Liaise with internal teams, mana whenua and external stakeholders as required.
Required profile
- Exceptional administration and organisational abilities.
- Business qualification or equivalent.
- Experience supporting senior managers in a council or local‑government environment.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced setting, think on your feet and adapt to change.
- Full driver’s licence and willingness to travel within the region.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
