VFX Generalist – Real‑Time & Photorealism (NZ/Australia)

About the role

880 Productions is seeking expressions of interest from talented VFX Generalists based in New Zealand or Australia. The role focuses on real‑time design and photorealistic visual effects for upcoming digital film projects, including the high‑profile Avatar 4 slated for 2029.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with industry‑leading teams to create real‑time VFX assets.
• Develop and integrate photorealistic effects using Maya, Motion Builder and Unreal Engine.
• Support virtual production pipelines and realtime workflows.
• Maintain and optimise VFX pipelines to meet production standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in VFX, CG animation or games.
• Strong technical and artistic foundation with a focus on real‑time design.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Maya.
• Proficiency with Motion Builder.
• Working knowledge of Linux.
• Experience with Unreal Engine (preferred).
• Understanding of VFX pipelines and workflows.
• Experience in virtual production and realtime methodologies.
