Treatment Operator - Central Hawkes Bay

About the role

We are looking for a Treatment Operator to join Veolia’s wastewater team in Central Hawke’s Bay. The role involves operating and maintaining reticulation networks and associated infrastructure, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency in line with Veolia’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support to Veolia and Central Hawke’s Bay District Council management.
• Guide the Wastewater Treatment team, set priorities and help achieve performance targets.
• Advise on and assist with operations and maintenance of wastewater treatment processes and systems.
• Participate in the development and implementation of wastewater quality and environmental improvement programmes.
• Take part in an operator‑level on‑call roster as required.

Required profile

• NZQA or equivalent professional/trade qualification in water and/or wastewater network construction, operations or maintenance.
• Experience in a similar role with knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure, systems, processes and standards.
• Understanding of wastewater treatment operations, maintenance activities and resource consents.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems.
