Town Centre Cleaner

About the role

Green by Nature is seeking a dedicated Town Centre Cleaner to join its Auckland Facilities team on a fixed‑term basis. Working early mornings, you will help keep West Auckland’s town centres, parks and public spaces clean, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Operate road sweepers and class 2 trucks for street cleaning.
• Perform water blasting on hard surfaces and weed spraying for vegetation control.
• Collect, dispose of litter and empty rubbish bins, including at bus stops.
• Use leaf blowers to keep pathways clear and clean curbs and channels.
• Maintain and clean public amenities such as bus stops and signage.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent public‑facing attitude to represent the Council and Green by Nature.
• Early‑riser able to start work at 5 am.

Required skills

• Road sweeper operation.
• Water blasting for surface cleaning.
• Weed spraying for vegetation control.
• Leaf blower operation.
• Class 1 driver’s licence (essential) and Class 2 licence (preferred).
