Team Leader Hub Services

About the role

The Team Leader Hub Services will be based in Auckland’s Central City Library, overseeing a team of 12‑15 staff who deliver frontline library and council services to a diverse urban community. This permanent, full‑time position focuses on creating outstanding customer experiences, fostering continuous improvement, and strengthening community connections.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and mentor a high‑performing team, building capability and driving performance.
• Champion excellent customer and community service, ensuring experiences reflect community needs and council services.
• Foster an inclusive, improvement‑focused culture aligned with tikanga and community values.
• Strengthen librarianship skills across the team and promote professional practice.
• Plan, promote, evaluate and report on library services, supporting design and implementation of service‑improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with local partners, iwi, and council whānau to enhance equitable access and strategic outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading and developing high‑performing teams in a public‑service or library environment.
• Strong knowledge of librarianship, customer service and community engagement.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including iwi and council partners.
• Demonstrated capability to drive innovation, performance and continuous improvement.
