Senior Mobile Developer – React Native (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a senior mobile developer with deep React Native expertise to lead our AI‑first mobile environment on a contract basis. The role is based in Auckland CBD and requires a hands‑on approach to accelerate delivery using the latest AI agents and large language models.

Key responsibilities

• Utilise AI‑native tools such as Copilot and custom LLM agents to refactor, debug and enhance the existing React Native codebase.
• Act as the “Human in the Loop,” performing sophisticated code audits, security checks and guiding AI outputs.
• Design and implement internal prompts and automated workflows that streamline the development lifecycle.
• Leverage modern frameworks to move concepts to production at unprecedented speed.
• Collaborate on‑site 3‑4 days a week with a high‑energy team, sharing AI‑first techniques to upskill colleagues.

Required profile

• Valid NZ work rights (non‑negotiable).
• Motivation to work in the office 3‑4 days per week.
• Extensive, battle‑tested experience with React Native and modern JavaScript ecosystems.
• Proven daily use of AI tools for coding, documentation and logic checking.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex architecture and guide AI tools to produce scalable results.
• Passion for experimenting with the latest tech and tools.
• Ready to start immediately in Auckland CBD.
