About the role

Alignerr is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to create high‑fidelity reasoning traces that will train next‑generation large language models. This fully remote, flexible contract position lets you shape how advanced AI systems think, plan, and decide.

Key responsibilities

• Author complex, step‑by‑step reasoning traces for sophisticated ML and technical tasks.
• Design and document problem‑solving strategies that teach LLMs to handle real‑world scenarios.
• Review and quality‑check traces to ensure logical clarity, depth, and training usefulness.
• Apply senior‑level architectural insight to improve model reasoning robustness.
• Contribute to data strategies that address edge cases in model decision‑making.

Required profile

• Deep experience in machine learning, AI research, or a closely related technical field with a focus on model reasoning.
• Proven ability to decompose ambiguous problems into clear, logical steps.
• Experience with LLM evaluation, fine‑tuning, or training methodologies.
• Comfortable working at both architectural and implementation levels.
• Highly rigorous, independent, and able to work asynchronously.
