Solution Architect – Hybrid (Auckland)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to help shape the future of a large‑scale customer engagement platform used by hundreds of millions of consumers worldwide. This strategic position sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and Architecture, influencing technology decisions and delivering scalable, customer‑focused solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to define technology strategy and roadmap.
• Lead architectural thinking from problem discovery through solution delivery.
• Provide guidance on cloud‑native, distributed systems and integration solutions.
• Identify risks, trade‑offs, and opportunities early in the development lifecycle.
• Define architectural guardrails, standards, and best practices.
• Influence senior stakeholders and challenge thinking constructively.
• Help shape AI‑assisted engineering and architecture practices.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Cloud, and Engineering teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and fit for purpose.

Required profile

• 2+ years experience as a Solution, Platform, or Software Architect.
• Strong background designing web‑based backend and integration solutions.
• Experience designing cloud‑native, distributed systems in modern cloud environments.
• Previous software engineering or development experience.
• Proven ability to partner with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Pragmatic approach balancing long‑term vision with business realities.
