Senior BAS Accountant – Business Advisory

About the role

Join BDO's Business Advisory team in Takapuna as a Senior BAS Accountant. You will partner with a diverse client base to support sustainable growth, delivering expert advice on accounting, tax and financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Apply accounting standards and prepare accurate financial statements for clients.
• Produce management reports, budgets and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Stay current with New Zealand tax legislation, prepare tax returns and identify planning opportunities.
• Identify business challenges, develop growth plans and advise on financial strategies.
• Manage filing requirements, explore trust structures and implement accounting software solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CA or ACCA qualification.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to work independently and within a team.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to build client relationships.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver high‑quality work.
