Security Performance Manager

About the role

The Security Performance Manager will lead and enhance cyber security operations across NZTA, focusing on vulnerability management, incident response, and security performance monitoring. Based in Wellington or Auckland, you will work closely with technology and business teams to protect New Zealand’s transport network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to uplift vulnerability management capability.
• Manage major security incidents and urgent remediation activities.
• Develop and maintain security policies, processes, and standards.
• Create reporting and metrics to track security platform performance.
• Provide expert advice to security teams and platform owners.
• Build strong relationships across internal stakeholders and external service partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience in vulnerability management, incident response, or security operations.
• Strong analytical capability with a risk‑based approach.
• Ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience working across cross‑functional teams to drive outcomes.
• Proactive attitude toward continuous improvement and security uplift.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in cybersecurity.
