Receptionist/Administrator – Manaaki Day Stay Facility

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and organised Manaaki Receptionist/Administrator to join the team at Mercy Hospital’s day‑stay facility. The role provides a professional front‑desk presence and essential administrative support for a busy surgical centre serving orthopaedics, endoscopy, ophthalmology, plastics, urology and more.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors, ensuring a warm and efficient reception environment.
• Manage bookings, appointments and patient flow for the day‑stay unit.
• Maintain accurate patient records, documentation and financial administration as required.
• Handle confidential information in line with privacy legislation.
• Support the clinical team with administrative tasks and coordination.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• High level of integrity and respect for patient confidentiality.
• Flexibility, adaptability and the initiative to solve problems.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Required skills

• Computer skills with proficiency in standard office systems.
• Experience with patient management systems (preferred).
• Familiarity with medical terminology (desirable).
