About the role
This full‑time, 12‑month contract position supports the Bowen Icon Cancer Centre team by delivering high‑quality administrative services and exceptional customer care to patients, their whānau, and visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome patients, families and visitors, creating a warm first impression.
- Schedule appointments, prepare clinic rooms and manage daily clinic logistics.
- Answer telephone calls, respond to enquiries and direct queries appropriately.
- Process invoices and claims for various health funders.
- Maintain and audit patient information, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Promote and model the centre’s vision, values and cultural commitments.
Required profile
- Enthusiastic, adaptable and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on delivering excellent patient experience.
- Understanding of Māori tikanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated teamwork and a proactive, ‘can‑do’ attitude.
Required skills
- Expert‑level proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with high‑quality data processing, invoicing and billing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
