Quality Systems Manager – Christchurch

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Quality Systems Manager to own and bring to life our Quality Management System in a precision sheet‑metal engineering environment. You will work closely with production teams on the shop floor, driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.
• Partner with operational teams on the floor to embed quality practices, solve problems and drive measurable outcomes.
• Plan, coordinate and lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and timely corrective actions.
• Identify improvement opportunities and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure quality documentation is clear, relevant and actively used across the organisation.
• Coach and support teams to build capability and ownership of quality processes.
• Monitor, analyse and report on quality performance, turning insights into action.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quality Systems Manager or in a similar role within manufacturing or engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO standards and quality frameworks.
• Hands‑on approach with willingness to engage directly with teams and processes.
• Practical problem‑solver with strong attention to detail.
• Clear communicator able to influence and build trust at all levels.
• Relevant qualifications in engineering, quality or a related discipline (preferred).
