Production Manager (2IC) – Dairy Farm

About the role

The Production Manager (2IC) will work closely with the Farm Manager to implement farm plans, oversee feed allocation, animal health, breeding and record keeping, and step in to lead the team when the manager is away.

Key responsibilities

• Implement farm plans and manage daily operations.
• Allocate feed and monitor pasture utilisation.
• Oversee animal health, breeding programmes and maintain accurate records.
• Support the team on the ground and step in as acting manager on the Farm Manager’s day off.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and animal welfare standards.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated and passionate about dairy farming.
• Desire to develop leadership skills and grow a career in agriculture.
• Commitment to personal and team development.
• High standards of animal welfare and safety.
• Full NZ driver’s licence and ability to operate farm machinery.

Required skills

• Dairy experience in grazing and animal health.
• Pasture management.
