About the role
The Operations Manager is the first point of contact for customers of Rural Bus Manawatū and handles general enquiries for the Trust. This part‑time role (20 hours per week) provides day‑to‑day leadership, staff support, and acts as a bridge between staff and the Board.
Key responsibilities
- Rostering part‑time drivers and rural community workers.
- Managing the vehicle fleet and overseeing bookings and logistics for the rural bus service.
- Establishing and maintaining strong community relationships.
- Assisting with funding applications and preparing regular performance reports for the Chairperson.
- Monitoring customer and client numbers, staffing matters, and service performance.
Required profile
- People‑management and customer‑service experience.
- Strong planning, administration and reporting abilities.
- Fleet‑management knowledge and community‑outreach experience.
- Technologically savvy self‑starter able to work independently.
- Willingness to work a minimum of two hours each day, Monday‑Friday.
Required skills
- Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
- Xero (including payroll).
- Canva.
- Facebook promotion.
