Network Operations and Quality Assurance Lead

About the role

Aurora Energy is seeking a Network Operations and Quality Assurance Lead to shape how its electricity network is managed across Dunedin, Central Otago/Wānaka and Queenstown. This senior position sits at the crossroads of operations, engineering, safety and service delivery, driving strategic improvements that move the network away from reactive, high‑hour environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of operational standards and practices.
• Strengthen works management, network access and related processes.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives that enhance safety and performance.
• Engage with the NOC, field teams, service providers, engineering, planning, H&S and risk & compliance stakeholders.
• Translate operational needs into clear, high‑quality documentation and training material.
• Act as a trusted advisor on best‑practice operational methods.

Required profile

• Experience in an electricity distribution or utilities environment.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
• Strong written communication skills and a practical, solutions‑focused mindset.
• Ability to balance best practice with real‑world application.

• Experience producing technical papers and operating standards.
