About the role
Healix New Zealand is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Government team as a Medical Case Manager. This office‑based position supports overseas‑based government employees and their families, providing clinical expertise through telephone and digital platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct medical case management activities for a diverse global patient base.
- Maintain patient contact via phone and digital tools, escalating critical issues as needed.
- Collaborate with doctors, coordinators, and administrators to develop clear, patient‑centred care plans.
- Support international repatriation flights, including potential travel as a medical escort.
- Document case information in the organisation’s case management system.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate and registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
- Minimum 3 years post‑registration clinical experience.
- Experience in case management or care coordination is advantageous.
- Clinical background may include primary care, acute care, military, remote/expedition, public health, travel health, or humanitarian settings.
Required skills
- Strong clinical judgement and ability to identify and escalate critical medical issues.
- Excellent telephone etiquette and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and case management systems.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced, global environment.
