Lead Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

Rocket Lab is seeking a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure that all procured parts and processes meet the company’s rigorous quality standards. Based in Auckland, New Zealand, you will guide a team of Supplier Quality Engineers and act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing Supplier Quality Engineering team.
• Translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable specifications for suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and process efficiency across the supply base.
• Oversee creation and management of non‑conformance reports.
• Plan and conduct supplier audits and manage supplier concessions.
• Identify and implement opportunities to reduce risk, cost, and lead time.
