Lead Engineer – Land Infrastructure (Christchurch)

About the role

This senior civil engineering position is based in Christchurch and focuses on delivering land infrastructure solutions for transport, land development, utilities and public projects across New Zealand. You will lead technical delivery, engage directly with clients, and mentor junior engineers within a growing regional team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop civil designs for roads, drainage, utilities and earthworks from concept through detailed design.
• Support transport, land development and public infrastructure projects with technical expertise.
• Prepare technical reports, design documentation and project proposals.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients to solve infrastructure challenges.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified Civil Engineer with around 10+ years of experience in civil infrastructure design.
• Strong technical capability across roads, drainage, pavements and utilities.
• Ideally Chartered or working towards Chartered status.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring others.

• Proficiency in 12d software.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D or similar design tools.
